“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were
written in your book before one of them came to be. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s
womb.”
~Psalm
139:13-16 (NIV)
In just a little over a month,
I will be celebrating my 30th Birthday. I have been taking a look back over my years on this earth and I’ve
been celebrating the moments that God has given me. I have so much to be grateful for and so much that I want
to share with you. In the next 20 to 30 days, I will do my best to bring you the concise version of the 30
years of life God has given me. I pray you will celebrate with me and in this journey through my life, may
you too find an occasion to celebrate the life God has given you.
Well, let’s start at the beginning. You may think that would be at my first birthday, but
no I’m going to start a year earlier. The date I’m starting at is June 24th, 1978. On that day, my
mom was in a beautiful white dress and my dad was in a white tuxedo. You guessed it, they got married. Now to
those who know me, it would seem an odd day to start on because my parents are no longer together. But I still celebrate
my parents marriage, their faith in God, their commitment to not have sex before marriage, their love for one another, their
love for their 5 children, their tremendous job as loving parents, and their choice to bring life into this world five times.
My dad prayed earnestly for my mom before he ever met
her. He was the one who sat me down and taught me how to pray for my husband when I was only 9 years old.
He was faithful to my mom before he even met her. My parents met at a Bible Study. My mom was very involved
in the Bible Study and she taught me a lot about the Bible while was I growing up. Her and my dad always had
something new they were learning. I loved knowing that my parents always were seeking God. It wasn’t
but a few months after my parents got married that they received the news: I would be joining their little
honeymoon.
Unlike the world today where life
has become an option to throw away, my parents were overjoyed to hear the news that I was coming along. There was never
a thought in their minds that I would not fit in the world that they had created. There was never a moment where I didn’t
belong in their lives.
Did you know
the gender of a baby is determined at conception? Did you know that the nervous system is functioning within 1 to 4
weeks of the baby’s development? Within this period of time the baby has a foundation to think, sense, and feel.
Did you know at 5 weeks the heartbeat can be detected? The lungs also start to appear at 5 weeks. Did you know
that little arm and leg buds appear at 5 weeks? At week 6 the lenses of the eye appear, the nostrils appear, the intestines
are growing, and the pancreas is working. Of course, the baby continues to grow in leaps and bounds throughout the 40
week process, but the world has tried to program us into believing that there isn’t a baby at conception. It’s
not true! God has created a living being inside the womb. He knows what He’s doing and the little one that
He’s creating is so beautiful. It’s fascinating the details that God cares about, even when others cannot
see the process of His creation.
My
parents chose each other on June 24th, 1978 and out of that love came a little girl on June 14th, 1979. That little
girl was Sarah Beth Lindberg, little ole me. My parents made a wonderful decision. Sure they never hesitated one
moment, but I know many today do. I hope these facts about the life that may be growing inside of even one woman who
is reading this, will be inspired and encouraged to carry life to full term. Don’t be afraid to look for other
options. If someone is reading this who has already performed an abortion, please know that God’s forgiveness
is available to you through His Son Jesus Christ. He can separate your sin as far as the East is from the West.
“…as far as the east
is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
~Psalm 103:12 (NIV)
(A couple good books for you to read are “Tilly” by Frank Peretti and “The
Atonement Child” by Francine Rivers.)
Well,
that is just the beginning of my life. Unfortunately, my parents are not connected to my blog site or they
would have plenty to say about my days on this earth. Maybe I’ll have to get a few quotes from them before
I finish up this topic. I’m sure they would love an opportunity to share something embarrassing about
me. They are two very proud parents of five wonderful children. I’m glad they found each other
and I’m so proud to call them my mom and dad! God knew what He was doing when He gave them to me and
vice versa. I’m a proud daughter to the best parents a girl could ever ask for. Thank you mom and
dad for making the decision to get married! Thank you for bringing life into this world and for showing me
who God is throughout my 30 years of life!
Dear
Father God, I’m beyond blessed to have a Father in Heaven who knows my name and has formed me in the secret
place. You alone know every inch of me! I cannot hide anything from You. I celebrate Your love
today and every day. May You continue to bless my parents for the great love they poured out in my life and
in my siblings. Thank You for bringing them together and for giving them the opportunity to raise five great
children!
Wonderfully Made
by a Loving Father,
Sarah
